How Daily Roast covers European specialty coffee
What we publish, what we deliberately leave out, and why the directory is a browsing tool rather than a ranking engine.

Daily Roast is a public directory of European specialty coffee roasters and coffee listings we've seen on their sites. The Journal exists for the bits that do not fit into a card. It covers how the directory is built, what specific coffee terms mean, and how to read a label when you are standing in a shop or looking at a roaster's website.
We collect publicly available information from roaster websites and other public pages, and review entries before they're published. We do not use private feeds, paid data partnerships, or anything behind a checkout. The Methodology page explains how entries are reviewed.
What the Journal is for
Journal articles are orientation pieces: they give you the background to judge what you're looking at. They do not present ranked lists, and they do not rank one roaster above another.
What the Journal is not
- Not a ranking engine. Public articles do not score or rate roasters or coffees against each other. Signed-in suggestions, where available, are based on your own saved coffees.
- Not a marketplace. We do not sell coffee or take a cut when you buy.
- Not a guarantee of completeness. Some roasters and listings will be missing or out of date.
